Local Maps

For visitors with smart phones or tablets with GPS, there is an excellent app called Maps.me based on open street map. The maps are easy to download and are available offline.
Both the app and the maps are free.
There are some local footpaths marked as well as other detail which is not present on the Ordnance Survey or Google maps.

Open Street Map  is a free open source mapping system which is constantly updated by users around the world, can be viewed online and can be downloaded and printed for later use. Again, some detail is better than Google or OS.

Ordnance Survey maps covering the Coigach peninsula are Landranger 15 – Loch Assynt and Explorer 439 – Coigach and Summer Isles.

If you are going to the hills or more remote places these are the best maps to take with you. Please do not rely solely on electronic devices which may let you down.

We also have a free map of the Coigach area to help you find your way around.
